July 4th Outfit Idea

Happy Monday everyone! July 4th is just a couple of weeks away, so I wanted to share with you an easy and cute outfit idea to wear to all of your Fourth of July festivities! This blue and white gingham dress is just darling and can be worn to a picnic, the beach, a party, a cookout - anywhere! The light cotton fabric is perfect for a hot and sunny July day, and if you're anything like me, staying cool in the summer heat is a must!

The pretty blue and white gingham pattern is so chic and on trend this season, so you can wear this dress not only on July 4th, but all summer long! I decided to style this dress with a pair of nude, heeled sandals, but if you're going for a more casual look, you can also style it with some flip flops, sneakers or flats! To finish off the outfit I wore a straw hat to add a little something extra, and to also keep the sun off of my face! ;)

Be sure to add a little pop of red to your outfit with a handbag, jewelry, shoes, or even lipstick and you are ready for a fun-filled and stylish July 4th! ;) I hope this post has helped you in your search for a fashionable patriotic look, and if you already have your outfit picked, leave a comment down below telling me what you will be wearing!

My Top 10 Natural Skincare Products

Happy Monday Ladies! I hope you all are having an amazing week thus far! Today I am going to share with you my top 10 natural skincare products that I use daily to maintain clear, soft and young looking skin.

Over the past few years I have tried to eliminate as many toxic products as possible due to the fact that we encounter so many toxins and chemicals every single day! While not all of my beauty and hair products are perfectly clean (I have yet to find a good natural hairspray), I try to at least keep my skincare and bath products as natural as possible.

On that note, here is a list of my top 10 natural skincare products!

1) One Love Organics Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser: This cleanser has done wonders for my skin. I have oily/combination skin with the occasional breakout, and struggled to find a cleanser that worked with my skin. This cleanser keeps my skin clear and soft, and I love that it's organic and all natural.

2) One Love Organics Morning Glory Caffeinated Firming Serum: I have tested numerous serums over the years, and never really found one that made a noticeable difference in the tone and texture of my skin.. until this one! Unfortunately, this product will not be available for much longer, but I look forward to trying another serum from this brand. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions!

3) Andalou Naturals Ultra Sheer Daily Defense Facial Lotion: This is the first natural moisturizer I tried in my quest for "clean" skincare, and I am still using it four years later! This has become my holy grail daily moisturizer. It has SPF in it for daily sun protection, and it's definitely an affordable option for natural skincare.

4) CSI Vivid Eyes Cream: This product isn't all natural, but I have noticed a difference in the dark circles under my eyes since I have started using it. This is a good affordable option for those of you who have dark circles and fine lines like I do, but I would like to find an all natural option that is just as effective. Let me know in the comments below if you know of a great natural eye cream alternative!

5) 100 Percent Pure Luminous Primer: This is another product that I have been using for several years, and will probably never stop using it! This primer goes on the skin so smoothly, and makes my makeup look flawless when I apply it. The first ingredient in this primer is aloe, which is known for doing wonders for the skin, and it also has a variety of other oils and flower extracts to heal the skin while also priming your makeup!

6) One Love Organics Skin Savior Multi-Tasking Wonder Balm: This wonder balm is a multi-purpose product that can be used for both cleansing the skin and moisturizing. I personally like to use this product when I want to do a double cleanse. I warm the balm up in my hands and rub it on my face in circular motions. I will then use a wet, warm muslin cloth to wipe off the balm and leftover makeup on my face, while also softly exfoliating my skin. I will then proceed to use my facewash to make my face extra clean! I like to do this a few times a week, and have noticed a huge difference in the texture and clarity of my skin since starting this ritual.

7) Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub: I like to use this scrub about once a week to get rid of the dead skin cells that form on my face. This scrub makes my skin extremely soft, and is perfect to use before using applying tanning products.

8) Sibu Beauty Sea Berry Therapy Purifying Clay Mask: This is my holy grail face mask! I have used several masks over the years, and I find that they tend to be either a hit or a miss, but this product NEVER fails me. Whenever my skin starts to break out I will apply this in the evening and wake up with clearer skin.

9) Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil: I was a little hesitant with facial oils due to the fact that my skin is naturally oily, but this facial oil has truly been a lifesaver! I apply this in the evenings before going to sleep and will wake up in the morning with baby soft skin. I also find that it helps with healing acne scars and red spots on the face.

10) Andalou Naturals Aloe Mint Body Lotion: This is my current favorite body lotion! It's lightweight formula absorbs into the skin quickly, and the mint has a cooling effect that I love, especially during the hot summer months! The best part is that it makes my skin extremely soft! It's a win/win!

I hope you all have enjoyed this post on my top 10 natural skincare products, and I would love to know what your favorite products are for soft, clear skin! Leave a comment down below telling me your favorites, and enjoy the rest of your week!

Summer Wardrobe Staples

Happy June Everyone!

With summer on its way, I wanted to share with you all a few of my summer wardrobe staples this season!

Summertime in the Carolinas is hot and humid, so I am sticking to the one-shoulder and off-the-shoulder shirts this season. There are a variety of cute styles available this year with fun prints and unique sleeves, which makes it easy to look put together during those hot and humid days while still staying cool (or at least as cool as you can be in this heat)!

This top is checking off all of the trends this year with its one-shoulder design, gingham print & ruffles to top it all off. I styled it with a pair of white skinny jeans, but it would also look cute with denim shorts, mini skirts or a nice pair of slacks, which brings me to my next wardrobe staple!

Skinny jeans are a must year round. I wear them during the summer, fall, winter, and spring and they never fail to put together a comfortable, yet cute outfit. During the summer I like to pull out the white denim to create a lighter, brighter and chic look. I find that I can wear a plain V-neck t-shirt with a pair of white skinny jeans and still look like I made an effort with my outfit!

My last staple is a pair of strappy, block-heeled sandals. Block heeled sandals are comfortable to walk in (unlike some of our stiletto friends), but still manage to dress up any outfit! Pair them with a pair of jeans or denim shorts for a casual look, or with a dress or a skirt if you're feeling fancy!

These are just a few of my current summer wardrobe staples, and I would love to know what your staples are! Leave me a comment down below with your favorites, because I am never opposed to adding more staples to my wardrobe! ;)

Styling Gingham

Happy May Everyone!

It may still be spring, but it is certainly starting to feel like summer in the Carolinas! The weather is getting warmer as each day passes, which means that it is time to pull out the shorts, skirts, and dresses!

This two piece set from Zara is perfect for those hot summer days!
It would be a lovely look to wear to a picnic with your girls, or even on a date night with your man!

I felt like a modern day (southern) Belle wearing this ensemble, and
I don't know about you all, but I am loving yellow and gingham this season.

If yellow is a little too bright for your taste, this set also comes in navy, which is perfect for the neutral girl, and did I mention that the top and skirt set is only $50? What can be better than that?

I styled it with a pair of comfy wedges and minimal jewelry to keep this look simple and sweet, but I think it would also look nice with a pair of studded sandals or strappy heels.

Stay tuned for more summer looks, and I hope you all have a lovely week!

A Weekend in Charleston

Hello lovelies!

My boyfriend and I recently made a weekend trip to Charleston and had such an amazing time together, so I thought I would put together a weekend travel guide for you all!

Charleston is one of those picturesque, magical places that provides inspiration around every turn.
During the spring the city is filled with vibrant, blooming flowers, and every street and alleyway leaves something beautiful to be discovered.

It is also the perfect place to escape to if you are looking for a quick, yet gorgeous, weekend getaway.
While we were not able to experience all that Charleston has to offer, we were still able to do a lot of sightseeing, eat good food (probably too much), and enjoy all of the beauty that is Charleston!

One of the great things about Charleston is that it is a city that is easily walkable by foot. For those of you who prefer a different method of transportation, there are other options available, such as historic carriage tours or bike rentals that make exploring the city a bit more memorable.

If it is your first time visiting the city, I would highly recommend taking a carriage tour in order to learn about the history of Charleston, but my all time favorite mode of transport for exploring is by bike!

While sightseeing, the colorful buildings and ornate wrought-iron gates provide picturesque spots for photo opportunities (for those of you who are as Instagram obsessed as I am haha). Be sure to check out the colorful Rainbow Row to snap a few pictures, and then head along to The Battery to take a relaxing walk by the water. If you have more time, Charleston also has a great variety of historic homes, museums and plantations to explore, which really brings the southern history to life!

During our trip we stayed at the Renaissance Hotel. The hotel itself is a luxury filled with modern art and decor (and bunny wallpaper - who wouldn't want that?), and it is also in the perfect location for exploring the city! Within a couple of minutes you will find yourself on King Street, which is the hot spot for all of the shoppers out there, and it is an easy walk to all of the best restaurants, coffee shops and the famous Charleston City Market.

For brunch, we visited the famous Poogan's Porch where we sat by the cute and cozy fireplace and ate traditional southern style dishes, such as chicken and waffles, biscuits with gravy, macaroni and cheese, and shrimp and grits. Needless to say I was glad we had a full day of bike riding ahead of us!

For dinner we ate at Eli's Table, which was probably one of the best overall dining experiences I have ever had. It just so happened to be ladies' night when we dined there, so every lady was presented with a fresh rose, and they provided every couple with complimentary champagne. The staff was friendly, the service was incredible, and the shrimp and grits were the best I have ever tasted!

For the doughnut lovers out there, be sure to check out Glazed Doughnuts! They have a variety of unique favors, such as maple bacon and lemon poppyseed, and who doesn't love a good doughnut?

I hope you all enjoyed reading about some of my favorite places in Charleston, and I hope you get a chance to experience this beautiful, historic city, even if only for a weekend!
If you have been to Charleston, leave a comment down below telling me about some of your favorite places and restaurants!

The Striped Shirt Dress

Shirt Dress // Wedges, similar herehere & here // Sunglasses // Choker // Watch // Bangle

Happy Wednesday loves!

I hope you all are having a fabulous week, and if not, at least we're halfway through!

I wanted to share this striped shirtdress with you all because I am currently in love with it!
A shirt dress is so easy to just throw on, while still managing to look cute and put together!
I styled it with a pair of wedges, but it could also be styled with a pair of strappy heels for a date night look, or with a pair of sneakers or sandals for a casual daytime look.

The red, white and blue colors really pop, so you can easily make a statement without wearing anything too outlandish or uncomfortable. Add some pretty jewelry and a pair of sunglasses, and you are all set for a pretty spring day!

Enjoy the rest of your week friends and comment below telling me how you would style this shirt dress!

My Favorite Top For Spring

Top, similar options Here and Here  // Jeans, similar Here and Here // Neck Scarf // Espadrilles, similar HereHere and Here // Sunglasses

Spring is finally here everyone, which means it is time to pack away our chunky sweaters and boots and pull out our spring blouses and sandals!

This top from Zara is my new favorite item in my wardrobe. Seriously. If I could pick one item of clothing to wear throughout the entire spring season it would be this top. All of the feminine attributes make this top truly unique, and look at how beautiful and detailed the sleeves are!

I love how pretty I feel while wearing this top, and it can be styled simply with skinny jeans and espadrilles for an effortless casual look, or paired with a midi skirt and heels to dress it up for a date night. The top really speaks for itself, but I had a little bit of fun and styled it with a polka dot neck scarf and cat eye sunglasses for an added flare.

I would love to know some of your spring favorites too!
